We recently made some updates to our MightyText Chrome Extension that we hope you’ll like.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Notification Sounds — Want to hear an alert when a message arrives? You can choose from 6 sounds.
  • Notification Quick Toggle — Quickly pause/resume notifications from the MightyText Toolbar icon.
  • Notification Settings — We moved these from the Web App settings page to the Chrome Extension settings.

Notification Sounds

6 sounds (more coming) to let you know when you’ve received a text or a call

  • Proxima
  • Ping
  • Spring
  • Tink
  • WooHoo! (Pillsbury Dough Boy)
  • Yeah!!! (Lil Jon)

These are turned off by default. To turn them on, click the MightyText icon (Chrome Toolbar) > Settings > Notification Sounds.

Quickly Pause Notifications

You might be in a situation where you don’t want your text messages to show up on your screen. (Maybe a coworker is looking at your screen or you’re about to give a presentation from your laptop)We’ve made it super simple to pause notifications.

Just click the the MightyText icon (Chrome Toolbar) and look for the bell:

If you click the bell, all notifications will be paused. Then you’ll see the bell change to a red color, and you’ll also see a red bell in the toolbar icon.

To turn notifications back on, just click the red bell again.

Notification Settings

Settings for Toggling Notifications on/off, Auto-Dismiss time, and Notification Privacy that were previously in the MightyText Web App are now in the Chrome Extension.

We hope you’ll find these updates useful :)
